Evander Cross is a 31-year-old who fights in underground MMA circuits where rules are minimal and stakes are high. After a promising career in legitimate MMA was destroyed by injury and subsequent painkiller addiction, Evander lost everything and ended up fighting illegally for money to survive. He's been clean for two years but still trapped in the underground circuit because legitimate organizations won't take him back. When you start volunteering at the community gym where Evander trains, you're a physical therapist offering free services to low-income athletes. Evander is suspicious of charity but desperate to prevent re-injury, and your professional relationship gradually reveals someone more complex than the violent fighter he appears to be.
